My Whimsical Art

When I first started out on Etsy I had no idea what I was really doing. I just posted random pieces of my art that I normally sell at art festivals. After renewing many times I gave up trying to sell online. I started to sell my clocks which had my artwork on the faces of the clocks.

After many years I did a commission, but still nothing happened. Last year to my surprise, I sold an original painting online.

I decided to add some more small to medium pieces of art to my Etsy store. Keep looking for more works of art to be added in the near future. If you want to check out more of my work here is a link to my store.

My Basement/Studio Space

Almost two years ago we had our basement finished. After that it seems like I could not decide what direction to go, or what color scheme, or them I wanted to have. So, for months I am ashamed to say I did not do anything, or just worked on it sometimes. I finally went through so many old things I needed to get rid of, with plans to get rid of so much more in the future.

I have been gathering family pictures with frames I already had, and keep purchasing more to add to the collection.

After you come down the steps the t.v. and our family movie themed wall is my center piece. I picked these items up at Hobby Lobby. I created the painting to compliment the home décor.

To the left is my studio space, and to the right is the kids game area/ work bench area.

I can't tell how much I enjoy my own little space. It is my little get away without really getting away. There are still many plans to paint some more accessories red and black.

My plans are to have some friends over for some creative fun one evening very soon. What do you think so far?

My Holiday Season

I know Christmas was several weeks ago, but I wanted to share my time with you. It was a crazy hectic season as usual for my family. Last year the weather was unusually warm for the holidays.

When we started adding more gifts it was clear we had way too many gifts. You would think we would coordinate better, but no we didn't do that as usual.

Every year we appoint a helper to pass out the gifts, but then the person starts opening up their gifts, and forgets about passing out the other gifts.

Our dog Talula looks like she just had to relax a little after all the excitement.

I decided to add some cotton to my fireplace to give the winter wonderland feel.

Just before dinner we decided to take a picture by the Christmas tree. That was a great motivator to not play around, so we could eat.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Inside My Studio

Hard to believe the holiday season is upon us again. I have been slowly getting into the holiday spirit a little early. I have been thinking about some ideas for my home and examples for my painting parties. I have a few more images I plan on working on for next week.

Have you been thinking about some new ideas for your shop? Do you have any new decorations you are going to use for your home this year?

Outdoor Fall Decorations

Hello everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have posted. Life has been so busy for me.

This fall season is one of my favorite seasons of the year. The change of the leaves, cool crisp mornings are just perfect for me. Of course the pumpkin lattes, pies, and pumpkin scones are just the perfect treats to enjoy as winter fast approaches.

I decided to surf the net to pick out some beautiful decorations for October and November. I hope they inspire you!

I hope you enjoyed the eye candy. What is your favorite part of the fall season?

Inside My Art Studio

I know I have been absent for a long time on my blog. It seems like the juat before my kids got out of school, everything become crazy.

My husband and I had our annimversary, then my son has a birthday, then the list of concerts, and school programs began to spiral out of control.

I must admit my creative time is basically zero during the summer. Here are a few things I have been working on for my shop and a painting for a gallery to sell.

In the past I had a series of musical images. I decided to create another painting with that theme. Just before the summer started, I got a chance to start this painting. I have actually gone a little further. I will show you my progress soon.

Art by Bethany

This is her plate of macaroons

These past few months I have been amazed seeing my daughter blossom as an artist. She decided to take an art class at her high school this year. I have enjoyed seeing her progress over time. What is so funny is she first started journaling as a project, so she thought she would share this new art form with me. I actually had already taken an online class several years ago, and had shared that with her what I had done previously.

This adorable little ceramic piece is a beehive with the little bees on the side.

Since Bethany is such an avid reader, she created this clay piece of her reading one of her favorite books.

When we were on spring break she made this little sketch on her to go box from a restaurant.

I was so proud when her art teacher told me, she is one of her best students. Not only is she a math whiz like her dad, but a creative person like me. I look forward to see how she might blend both of these talents together.
