Flip Flops

I know the first freeze is expected to arrive this weekend, but I have been floating this image in my head about flip flops. Mind you, these sandals have become a year round fashion to wear. I don't know why people want to wear them in the dead of winter.

When I was living in Maryland, I was shocked to see a man wearing flip flops in January at my local grocery store. There was snow on the ground and it was freezing. Why do people think they are living in south Florida? I still don't get it.

Do you wear flip flops in the winter? Come on fess up.

Have a great week!

  1. I do, Michelle - and believe me, sometimes I'm embarrassed to see people looking suspiciously at me. But I hate to have closed in feet. My feet are always warm and they like their freedom.

  3. That is cute, Mechelle. No flip flops in winter for this cold blooded girl! I am all boots and thick shoes when out and about, and slippers and socks (at the same time) in the house! I hate having cold feet!

  4. I am originally from New Mexico, so there I might have, but now that I live in Minnesota, I think I would freeze! I was shocked to see all the kids on campus during college wearing shorts and sandals. Crazy!

  5. Flip flops are cute all year long...just not on my feet! I wear two pair of socks and boots in the winter...not sandals :)

  6. Flip flops are year-round fashion in Southern California, where I am. I don't have pretty toes, so it's rare to see ME in them, but I wear them instead of slippers much of the time. (At home.)

  7. Cute flip flops! I don't wear them in cold weather because my feet get too cold. Not usually. This morning I was running late and it was easier to slip on my sandals that were by the door than to put on shoes and socks. It was 32 degrees!

  8. I picked up a pair of flip flops this summer to wear around home, and that's the first pair I've had in a couple of years. Some time ago, at a co-op spelling bee, one of the judges used the word sandal and said "Sandal: My daughter wears her sandal to shovel snow." Everyone started laughing because we knew it was true.

  10. Here in the Pacific Northwest I wear my flip flops to get from the house to the hot tub (about 20 feet) year round. Otherwise, I rarely wear them:) Cute pic!
