I Feel Spring Coming

Spring is most definately coming to my area because my eyes are starting to water, and I have the sniffles. Even though this is not a good season for me initially, I love seeing all the beautiful array of flowers begin to bloom. I created these lovely little paper flowers from some designs in my sketchbook. I printed them out on this pretty decorative paper and attached buttons with some three dimensional paint on a few. They are perfect for scrapbooking, or creating your very own note cards.

Celebrate

My husband made the Big 50 last week! I just had to show you the wonderful cake made by Cake in the Box. I told my local baker that he loves football, so she came up with this awesome design. The cake was so delicious! Several days before his birthday he kept saying, "I'm still young, I'm still young." Lol

Shop Feature: Two Hand Design

A breath of fresh air is what I feel when I see the work of Two Hand Design. Vicky is a designer that creates these delightful paper products from a letterpress. She first started printing by hand in high school but first discovered letterpress in art school and has been hooked ever since. It took her quite a few years to find a press but she is now the proud owner of a Kelsey 6 x 8 tabletop.

Vicky's love of Folk art, mid century graphics, nature, pattern design, home decor, children's book illustrations inspire the work she creates. Sometimes her inspiration is a color combination or just an arrangement of items. She also likes to sew and to paint in watercolor in her spare time.

Several years ago I made these Valentines Cards for my Etsy store. I have for many years enjoyed making cards by hand to give to others. I so enjoy creating the cards, I think it means so much to someone when you take the time to make one for a friend or loved one in your life. The heart was painted with acrylic paint. I used a base coat of brown then red and pink on top. I outlined the heart then cut it out, and attached a few layers of torn decorative paper.

This card was created with a stamp I purchased at a local art and crafts store. The top was stamped in gold. The heart was painted on watercolor paper, then stamped a design on top. After I cut it out I attached it to the card. At the bottom of the card I glued some decorative paper.

Say I LOVE YOU in some special way. That is my motto as I live life creatively!

Happy February

Yesterday I dropped off a few of these little guys off to Lona Gallery. It is hard to believe we are already into the second month of the year. My how time flies! So whoever that special someone in your life is, remember to cherish them not just for that one day, but throughout the year!
