Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room in the inn.
Wishing all of my blogger friends a wonderful holiday and blessed new year!! God bless.

Decorate the Teachers
My son had a great time at his Christmas party yesterday. One of their activities was to decorate both of his teachers for fun. Now we just need to place some presents under the them! hehe
Jordan also had fun decorating a gingerbread man at one of the activity tables. Can you see the gingerbread man under all of that sugar? He did not finish eating it, thank God!

Bridal Ornament
Here is a bridal ornament that I have also created the past few weeks. The embellishments add a nice finishing touch to the piece. I was inspired to create this because I have an ornament made of fabrice that someone gave us an ornament as a gift for our wedding, so I decided to create one in polymer clay. I will be interested to see the response of people from the local gallery that is carrying them. Hopefully they will become an additional part of my line along with my paintings.
The winner of my blog giveaway is post #1 Mary. Congratulations!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Christmas Giveaway
I dropped off these little cuties off to a local gallery that carries my work. They will also be available in my shop later today. I decided to have a giveaway of one of my little guys to one of my lovely readers. So, if you want one of these little birds to fly to your home, just post a comment of what's your favorite thing about Christmas. I will announce the winner on Friday evening!

First Decoration
It is so hard to believe that tomorrow will be the first day of December! Before we went out of town for the Thanksgiving break I found this cute little plate at my local Hobby Lobby. I thought it would go great on my kitchen counter. This is my first official decoration that I put up for the season. Now, I have to go down to the basement and start dragging out all of those boxes of festive trimmings. It is almost like opening up a new present when you unwrap each decoration. There are so many fond memories of Christmas past to cherish all over again. Enjoy the beginning of the season!

Tis the Season!
Hard to believe that the season is soon upon us. I so enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with getting together with family and friends to enjoy a meal and give thanks to God for all He has done over the year. Still at the back of all of our minds the Christmas rush is right around the corner after we give thanks. So go and enjoy the turkey and all the trimmings, then put on your track shoes and begin the holiday rush. I know we don't have to rush, but ultimately we do!

Creating with Polymer Clay
I love working with polymer clay and enjoy making ornaments that I give as gifts to teachers, neighbors, and family members. My youngest son's teacher had a piece of artwork that had a blackboard, apple, and a few other teacher items on a desk in her classroom. I decided to make this ornament specially for her. I will personalize this with her name on the blackboard.

This past weekend I hosted my daughter's thirteenth birthday party at our home. Our invitations and cake had butterflies as the theme for the event.
We had an artsy party that included making an inspirational blocks for the girls to take home as gifts. Here are a few examples we had after the girls left. The two on the right are my boys' blocks, so that is why they are not so girly. Lol
Whatever you decide for your child's party always make it unique and creative!

Biscuits Anyone!
The motto for my blog is living life creatively. Well, my daughter is really living it, when she came up with these biscuits. She added food coloring to some and sugar and cinnamon to others. My young chef is truly original! Have a great day everyone!

World of Coke
A few Pop Art inspired pieces.
Robots like Coca Cola too.
Some folk art.
I had the opportunity to go to downtown Atlanta to visit the new World of Coke Museum. The museum relocated a few blocks, to be next to the Georgia Aquarium several years ago. We decided to take the kids and my mom who is visiting with us. I wanted to show you some of the beautiful artwork that adorned the walls.

Shrimp Etouffee
My mom who is from New Orleans made this dish for some guest she had come visit her home. I decided to give it a try for my family for dinner. Since my mom doesn't follow a recipe, I looked up this dish from Emeril's recipe on Food Network that is pretty easy to make. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did!

Tutorial and Blog Winner!
I decided to add a little flair to this white t shirt with the stamp I made a few weeks ago. Come take a look on how it was done.
I carved out a drawing that I had made before. I reversed the image on some parchment paper before tranferring onto the stamp block. I used a pencil to draw all over the back of the paper the image so I could transfer the image. Then I carved out my stamp with Speedball carving kit.

I placed a piece of chip board in between the shirt, so to protect the back.
After I finished carving out my stamp I used acrylic paint with Delta Creamcoat Textile medium. The textile medium transforms the paint to become a textile paint. I randomly placed the flowers down the shirt.

New Tote Giveaway!!
Here is my second attempt to block print on a tote bag. I like how this turned out, and after the suggestion of my daughter, I added a border around the flower. The border gives it that special finished look to compliment the flower. I am so happy the way it turned out I decided to have a giveaway. Let me know what type of items you would carry if you had this tote.
Post your comment by next Wed. 4pm EST. I will announce the winner later that evening!

Matilda's Cottage
I had the pleasure of finally getting to visit Matilda's Enchanted Cottage nestled just outside the city of Alpharetta. This charming gallery is a favorite of many locals in the suburb just north of the Atlanta area. Mary Jane is one of the owners, and has been featured on HGTV's Dream Home 2005 and Atlanta Home Magazine. The gallery is filled with folk, and delightfully whimsical art.
I like how the owners think outside the box as far as marketing to the community. They have music every Friday and Saturday night in their back lawn. This is definitely a must see if you are in the Atlanta area.

New Painting
I have been busy with the kids since they are out for summer vacation. Computer time is limited since there are now three other people wanting their time. I wanted to show a new piece I started working on a few weeks ago before the school year ended. Hopefully I will get a chance to work on it some more this week.
