Matilda's Cottage

I had the pleasure of finally getting to visit Matilda's Enchanted Cottage nestled just outside the city of Alpharetta. This charming gallery is a favorite of many locals in the suburb just north of the Atlanta area. Mary Jane is one of the owners, and has been featured on HGTV's Dream Home 2005 and Atlanta Home Magazine. The gallery is filled with folk, and delightfully whimsical art.

I like how the owners think outside the box as far as marketing to the community. They have music every Friday and Saturday night in their back lawn. This is definitely a must see if you are in the Atlanta area.

"Eden" is complete

I finally completed this painting after putting it aside to figure out what finishing touches I would add to the painting. Hopefully I will be complete editing the demo of this painting video this week so I can upload onto Youtube. A print will be available this week in my shop.

Sneak Peek - Painting in Progress

step #1 -Laying in the background color to my painting.
step #2 -Adding the grass with a cross hatch approach.

step #3 - Painting the foliage in the tree.
The toughest part for me after completing the painting is titling the piece. Sometime it comes to me quickly, other times I can't think of a thing. This image definately reflects my Christian faith and the tree represents having a firm foundation. Help me come up with a name! If I pick your title I will send you a prize.
