My hubby and I went out on a date last week to dinner. After our meal we stopped by the bookstore like we used to do (before kids). I found this wonderful magazine Cloth Paper Scissors. It includes mixed media art and collage from various artist. I have been looking at it often this week and it has been inspirational! I have even created a new piece. I used to work in collage solely a long time ago. It was fun to revisit this medium again combining paper and paint in my piece. This magazine should be available in your local bookstore. Their website is: clothpaperscissors.com
I made these little coffee cups to go hang up in my kitchen. If your a coffee lover like me these make the perfect accent to a room. I painted the pair on a heavy muslin, then I sewed the front and back together. I padded the inside with some batting, then added a circular plastic ring on the back by hand sewing on the back of the cup to hang on the wall. I think they are so cute!
My daughther had to create an edible representation of the middle colonies. We made cookie dough for the states which include: New York, Pennsylvania, Delware and New Jersey. It turned out very nice!
In the past I have created angels as my subject matter. I wanted to make new images with my current style. These cute little ladies would look great in a little girl's room.
