March Giveaway!

It's time for another giveaway from my shop. I am giving away one of my prints titled "Eden". This print is from an original piece of art I created. The colorful, forest including two fanciful birds continue on with my series of birdies. I so much enjoyed creating these whimsical birds and working with all the bright colors. The print size is 8 x 10. There is a white border wide enough to matte the image for framing. It is also signed by the artist (me).

Just post a comment for a chance to win. Contestants who are eligible are those who have not won in the last 90 days. The winner will be announced next Friday March 2oth. You have until 3pm to post EST. I will announce the winner name later that evening. Post your email address and respond within three days.

Norcross Art Festival and other stuff

I have been meaning to show pictures of my last show a couple of weeks ago in Norcross. I walked this show last year and determined that this show fit my style of art. So I applied and got in the show! The show is very well organized with very helpful volunteers. The city of Norcross is very quaint with cute little shops and restaurants. There are several new lofts in the area for that downtown feel. You almost feel like your in downtown Atlanta. Even though the sales were definately not as much I had hoped (bank failures happened the week before) I would like to give it a try again next year.

Another Birdie!

I am continuing on with my series of fanciful bird series. Birds come in all different shapes and sizes. They are a beauty to behold. I believe they reflect God's awesome beauty and grace. I hope you enjoy my take on these beautiful creatures!
I look forward to creating more of my creatures as I prepare for art festivals in the fall. I hope they bring tons of smiles to those who see them.
I hope my birds express my passion for art like Laurel Burchs' cats have for many who have followed her career over the years. I have long been a admirer of her work! I was so sad to hear she had died last year, she was truly a talented artist.

Why Fly Note cards

It has been so crazy lately with my kids end of the year activities. Finally the summer vacation for us has started, so hopefully I can include more items in my blog now.

I have created some new note cards from my original work. My fanciful birds are a perfect little note to send to a loved one, or friend.
I'm looking forward to this Memorial Day weekend with all the festivals and other fun activities in the area. I wish you all a safe holiday!

Check out my etsy shop, I'm always adding new items.

New Image titled "Eden"

I have been working on this new image for several weeks now. I wanted to have my fanciful birds in a forest setting. I loved working with all the different shades of color and texture. I was happy with the way it turned out. Prints are available in my Etsy shop and soon I will have note cards of this image also. Each image I am creating I try to push my self a little further as I get to know my bird a little better. Hopefully I hope to convey joy and love of God's beautiful creation!

I've Got Notecards

I have been creating my images not just as fine art prints, but in note cards as well. I think these little birds make the perfect eye catcher for sending that special loved one a personal note. I'm selling the cards in packs of three. Check out my Etsy website for more information.

Another Bird with an Attitude

I have been unable to update my blog due to a nasty computer virus. We had a tough time getting rid of the virus that would come back again and again! It was so frustrating.

I have been wanting to update my blog with a new image. I hope you like my new addition to my collection of fanciful birds. This little guy is sure to stir up trouble.

I Love My Java

I made these little coffee cups to go hang up in my kitchen. If your a coffee lover like me these make the perfect accent to a room. I painted the pair on a heavy muslin, then I sewed the front and back together. I padded the inside with some batting, then added a circular plastic ring on the back by hand sewing on the back of the cup to hang on the wall. I think they are so cute!

In the past I have created angels as my subject matter. I wanted to make new images with my current style. These cute little ladies would look great in a little girl's room.

Presenting My FANCIFUL BIRDS

I have two new images that I am very excited about. It was so much fun to create these whimsical, quirky birds. They are on there way to a trip to Florida. This feathered duo are off to lots of adventure, and fun in the sun! These images are available in 8 x10 prints in my Etsy shop.

I got this idea about designing pillows, from a magazine article I read about but it's not your standard square pillow. I began by making a little sample pillow to see how it looked. I liked the result, so I began making full size ones. This started about about 5 years ago. I have one person who bought about 2 or 3 of them. They are very eye catching when displayed at art festivals. My first pillows were of women of different cultures. The other images were vases of flowers. Later I created smaller pillows of birds. This is my current theme. These fanciful quirky birds are so much fun to make.

It has been awhile since my youngest was born, but I will be making more for festivals coming up this spring.

The vase of flowers are in my sitting room.
