Screen Printing

I wanted to show you my latest attempt to silk screen on paper before I try fabric again. When I try fabric again I will probably use a grip to make sure the screen and fabric are closer together, this will allow for the ink to go on evenly.

Sneak Peek

This weekend was fun filled with attending a ballet called "Praise in Motion" with my daughter and her friend, then attended our first cookout at our neighbors home.

Here is a sneak peek at my latest painting. I just have to put a few finishing touches to make it complete. I also made a video of me painting this piece that I plan to post on Youtube very soon.

Creative Days

This week was a pretty creative week for me. I worked on my art journal, made some more clay birdies that will go in my shop soon. Today I worked with something I have never used before, the material is called Shrinky Dinks. I drew a picture on the plastic sheet, colored it then cut it out and baked it. I am not sure what I am going to do with them, but they can be quite addictive once you start making them. I'm thinking maybe make them into a charm or keychain. This is a great craft to do with your kids... heck I loved experimenting with this material.

January Giveaway!!!

It is time again for my giveaway for the month of January. I was trying to decide what item to select, so I came up with one of my birdie ACEO (Art, Cards, Editions or Originals) prints. An artist card is like a baseball trading card that artist sell or trade with others. I thought it would only fitting to have my first birdie I created as the prize!

Come and post a comment for a chance to win. Only people who have not won in the last 90 days are eligible to enter the contest. I will send you an email and you have 3-4 days to respond. If I don't hear back from you I will select another person. Sorry. Leave a comment by 2pm January 23rd. The winner will be announced that evening.

Unique Pillows

Since I can not sew a straight line at all I got this idea about 7 years ago to make a pillow, but not the traditional square shop. I played around with a little prototype and then started making larger sizes.

This week I want to feature unique pillows which can make a great accent piece to a bedroom, living room or any room in your home. These are pillows which I have created.

Norcross Art Festival and other stuff

I have been meaning to show pictures of my last show a couple of weeks ago in Norcross. I walked this show last year and determined that this show fit my style of art. So I applied and got in the show! The show is very well organized with very helpful volunteers. The city of Norcross is very quaint with cute little shops and restaurants. There are several new lofts in the area for that downtown feel. You almost feel like your in downtown Atlanta. Even though the sales were definately not as much I had hoped (bank failures happened the week before) I would like to give it a try again next year.

New Image titled "Eden"

I have been working on this new image for several weeks now. I wanted to have my fanciful birds in a forest setting. I loved working with all the different shades of color and texture. I was happy with the way it turned out. Prints are available in my Etsy shop and soon I will have note cards of this image also. Each image I am creating I try to push my self a little further as I get to know my bird a little better. Hopefully I hope to convey joy and love of God's beautiful creation!

Another Bird with an Attitude

I have been unable to update my blog due to a nasty computer virus. We had a tough time getting rid of the virus that would come back again and again! It was so frustrating.

I have been wanting to update my blog with a new image. I hope you like my new addition to my collection of fanciful birds. This little guy is sure to stir up trouble.
