La Ti Da!

I have been passing by this store for months saying I need to go check out this papier store called La Ti Da. I usually am on the run and not enough time to stop by because I have to be somewhere or get something. Finally I made it there today and was so impressed with all the store had to offer. They have a wide array of stationery, napkins, bridal gifts, baby gifts, teacher gifts and a full floral shop as well. There are some many great gift ideas and accent pieces for your home. I will definitely be coming back to La Ti Da!

January Giveaway!!!

It is time again for my giveaway for the month of January. I was trying to decide what item to select, so I came up with one of my birdie ACEO (Art, Cards, Editions or Originals) prints. An artist card is like a baseball trading card that artist sell or trade with others. I thought it would only fitting to have my first birdie I created as the prize!

Come and post a comment for a chance to win. Only people who have not won in the last 90 days are eligible to enter the contest. I will send you an email and you have 3-4 days to respond. If I don't hear back from you I will select another person. Sorry. Leave a comment by 2pm January 23rd. The winner will be announced that evening.

My Creative Process

I decided to share with you my creative process of creating an original piece of art. First I start with a sketch in my sketch pad. After I have determined what image I will use I prime my canvas. I use gel medium to texturize the canvas. I usually prime several at a time. Then after they are dry I paint a base coat of brown acrylic Liquitex paint. I used to use red or purple for my base coat but lately brown is my favorite, which also adds as an outline for my image.

1000 Markets

Happy New Year!

I am very excited to have a second shop on a new site called 1000 Markets. The venue is an exciting high quality site of fine art and crafts. The site is not as crowded as the Etsy sight so it is thrilling to be on the early stages of this new one. Come check out my shop and check back for updates regularly. Looking forward to a succesful 2009!
