Inside My Studio

Hard to believe the holiday season is upon us again. I have been slowly getting into the holiday spirit a little early. I have been thinking about some ideas for my home and examples for my painting parties. I have a few more images I plan on working on for next week.

Have you been thinking about some new ideas for your shop? Do you have any new decorations you are going to use for your home this year?

Outdoor Fall Decorations

Hello everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have posted. Life has been so busy for me.

This fall season is one of my favorite seasons of the year. The change of the leaves, cool crisp mornings are just perfect for me. Of course the pumpkin lattes, pies, and pumpkin scones are just the perfect treats to enjoy as winter fast approaches.

I decided to surf the net to pick out some beautiful decorations for October and November. I hope they inspire you!

I hope you enjoyed the eye candy. What is your favorite part of the fall season?

Inside My Art Studio

I know I have been absent for a long time on my blog. It seems like the juat before my kids got out of school, everything become crazy.

My husband and I had our annimversary, then my son has a birthday, then the list of concerts, and school programs began to spiral out of control.

I must admit my creative time is basically zero during the summer. Here are a few things I have been working on for my shop and a painting for a gallery to sell.

In the past I had a series of musical images. I decided to create another painting with that theme. Just before the summer started, I got a chance to start this painting. I have actually gone a little further. I will show you my progress soon.

Art by Bethany

This is her plate of macaroons

These past few months I have been amazed seeing my daughter blossom as an artist. She decided to take an art class at her high school this year. I have enjoyed seeing her progress over time. What is so funny is she first started journaling as a project, so she thought she would share this new art form with me. I actually had already taken an online class several years ago, and had shared that with her what I had done previously.

This adorable little ceramic piece is a beehive with the little bees on the side.

Since Bethany is such an avid reader, she created this clay piece of her reading one of her favorite books.

When we were on spring break she made this little sketch on her to go box from a restaurant.

I was so proud when her art teacher told me, she is one of her best students. Not only is she a math whiz like her dad, but a creative person like me. I look forward to see how she might blend both of these talents together.

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

My daughter Bethany, is always looking at different recipes on Pinterest. She came across this recipe with a very interesting twist on pancakes. Cinnamon roll pancakes! Huh! I must admit I had never seen anything like this before.

I wish I could say these are our finished products, but the kids ate them up so fast I couldn't get a picture in time.  Here is the complete recipe on Love in the Oven

Flipping with the cinnamon on top, can be pretty tricky, but if you are adventurous, give them a try!

Ladies Night Out

Two weeks ago I got together with some friends for a little painting party. The party was to paint a gift for our sweethearts for Valentine's Day.

I instructed them step by step how to create a blackboard themed work of art.

Stephenie personalized her art for her hubby.

Everyone brought some goodies to share with each other. That table was visited several times by us all.

Yes, I know this picture is reversed, but Stephanie accidentally reversed the picture. She and her daughter had a great time. Mom and I were wondering who Regan would say is her Valentine. She did not reveal. LOL! I'm sure it's for her dad.

I can't tell how much fun and laughs we all had that night.

Everyone's masterpiece is complete

I wanted to share with you about Pat's painting. She is a former customer of mine. Pat decided to paint this for her friend who recently just lost her loved one. I believe she said it was her friend's husband that had died recently. I think this is such a special gift to remember her friend for Valentine's Day.

Hopefully, we can get together again real soon, for another fun filled evening with these wonderful ladies!

Chalkboard Clock

To say that my creative time is slow is an understatement. Since the new year I haven't felt very creative. I did come up with an idea of a new clock design in December, and started working on it during the holiday. Chalkboard look is such a popular design for home décor right now, so I decided this would be a nice touch to my shop. The clock will be available in a few days.

Flat Tummy Water

A friend of mine posted this recipe she got off of Pinterest to flatten your tummy. I decided to give it a try. After I sliced up all of the ingredients into the pitcher of water you put in your refrigerator over night. Then I started drinking in the morning. The flavor of the infused water was actually pretty good.  It is recommended to do every other day for four weeks only.

I only did it for two days. I think if I do it again I could do it once a week instead of every other day. Let me know if you try it.

6 cups of filtered water
1 tbsp of grated ginger
1 cucumber, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1/2 cup of mint leaves
Let the mixture infuse overnight
Drink it all the next day and enjoy!
If you don’t finish it all, please keep it refrigerated. it keeps up to 2 days.
Make sure ingredients are organic and the water is filtered.
If you can’t find fresh ginger, you can also use organic ginger root powder.
Use 1 Tbsp.
