Mirror mirror on the wall

I purchased these mirrors from Ikea I am ashamed to say almost seven years ago. I discovered them in a box in our basement a year or so ago.

I decided to hang them in the sitting room in my master bedroom.

First I masked the mirror with painter's tape

Next I added white paint for my first coat. I used craft paint that I already had in my studio. Once the paint dried I applied crackle coat on top of the white.

The final coat I added this funky purple to give it that pop to the mirrors.

Now here is the finished product. I just need to touch up a few areas then varnish the wood. Hopefully it won't take me that long to hang them up.

I have never used crackle paint but I love the finish. Post some pictures of your room once the frames are done!

These are great, Mechelle! By the way, I have a pin of your bird on my coat :) You should sell these mirrors, you did a fantastic job.

Thanks for sharing, Mechelle. It's amazing what is out there that I have never heard of. I'm glad to hear that other people 'discover' treasures in their nether regions :)!! Your frames are a beautiful happy color.
